From Moodboard to Masterpiece: A Poster Workflow

Collect, distill, draft, refine: a four-pass poster workflow that turns a folder of references into a print-ready key visual.
Great posters are not generated; they are art-directed. The model is your fastest junior designer, but you still need to be the director. This four-pass workflow is how the strongest poster series on Lumia get made.
Budget two passes for thinking and two for rendering. The thinking passes are where the quality lives.
Pass one and two: collect, then distill
Gather twenty references — type, photography, palettes, eras — then force yourself to keep five. Write one sentence describing the poster: the idea, not the content. If you cannot say it in one sentence, you are not ready to prompt.
Distill those references into a style block you will reuse verbatim across every draft: palette, type treatment, texture, and era. Consistency starts here.
Pass three and four: draft wide, refine narrow
Generate a wide batch with loose composition prompts and pick the two strongest silhouettes. Then lock the composition and iterate only on details: typography placement, lighting, texture density.
Finish by rendering the background plate and foreground elements separately when the model allows it — compositing beats single-shot generation for complex layouts every time.
