A towering giant ant bursts free in a spray of dirt and stones, its segmented body unfolding with violent force. Its mandibles snap open with a wet metallic clatter as it lunges forward. Ray shoves Clara aside just as the ant slams down between them. Its jaws clamp around Ray’s torso and lift him screaming into the air. He claws at its face as thick black fluid sprays from a ruptured joint. The ant violently jerks him inward and crushes him between its mandibles with a sickening crack. Clara stumbles backward in shock. The ant pivots with terrifying speed and lunges again, dragging her screaming into the dirt as its legs churn the ground into dust. Only drifting debris remains.",
